Who can resist Lincoln Logs!? Dad took the kids shopping and helped them pick out a Christmas present. Good choice- the kids never tire of building with legos, lincoln logs, tinker toys. Josh is getting very good at building some impressive structures:)
Mom was sure to load Dad up with gifts (so much that there was barely any room for his own clothes!)- the kids had a great time tearing up wrapping paper!

I was a bit worried about Ivy, my shy one, because it usually takes a long time for her to warm up to someone. She was eager to cuddle up with Pops right away. Of course, there were never any concerns about Josh being shy.Some Josh-isms during the visit...
He was getting a bit boisterous during dinner so after repeated attempts to get him to calm down, I took him to a bedroom to have a little chat. I reminded him that when he disobeys, he is outside of the "circle of safety" (an illustration that he is familiar with- its used frequently!) He replied "well mom, it could be the square of safety"
Grrr...how do you respond to that?! I have a hard time telling if he is intentionally sassy or quite serious sometimes. I let that one go :)
